Oskar Musaev singing 'Believe' from The Polar Express Soundtrack

Wonderful voice!Oskar Musaev singing 'Believe' from The Polar Express Soundtrack during 'A Green Symphony' concert in Segi Unversity College recently. The song 'Believe' written by Glen Ballard and Allen Silvestri was nominated for Best Original Song at the 77th Academy awards. It was sung at the 77th Academy Awards show by original performer Josh Groban with Beyonces Knowles. It gained a Grammy Award in 2006.Mr. Oskar, I dont think you sounds like Josh Groban but you sounds better than him with your own style.
For the concert,it ends with a memorable experience when everybody seems to be overwhelmed by the acoustic sounds of the music.I personally feel very touch with the commitment and passion shown by all musicians. My daughter ask me to buy the Phantom of the Opera and Jurassic Park DVD after the concert. You see ,how influential is the music.Music is powerful.Your music had generate positive energy to all people .Your music had brings happiness to all the audience on that night. This the right way ,when everybody let go the ego and enjoy the music.Music belong to each and everyone, nobody has the highest authority nor a power to disrupt or discontinue the music in whatever circumstances.Few second like few hours, remember the movie 'Titanic'? The last part when the ship completely sink?Remember 5 musicians still playing cello and violin untill the last moment and yet giving their best performance to all panic prestige people running upside down? You think this only happen in movie,I don't think so...I think we have this kind of musician out there.A Green Symphony's musician is part of them. Finally, after 3 months of preparation, this concert's over with success. You guys keep up the good work, one day you will become a shinning star.A heartfelt thanks to all who make this happen , Dr Kow, GT.Tan, Allicia Lim, Mayya, Oskar, Eizaz, Kevin Tew, Dato Chia, Wong, William, Buck, Alice Wong, Sook Luan, Jasmine, Mr Tan , Chee Seng, San San , Dato Kayoom , Dato Azhar Mansor, Datin Sarah, Jason Kok, Mandy Kaw, Mr Quah, Mee Ling, Leng Li, Retallick , Zurah and many many more.I salute you.Thank you for your unconditional support towards this concert.Together we make music education accessible to every Malaysian.

Bugera Tube Head Guitar Amplifier sponsored by Ultimate Music

2008 3 channel reverb tube 4 6l6 4 12ax7's efects loop line out with level 4 button footswitch (clean, crunch, lead, fx loop/boost) interesting that there is a no footswitchable reverb. 120 TUBE watts, clean stays clean no matter how loud you go. Crunch is in the marshall jcm area very usable love the way the tubes break up on this channel very 80's at high gain settings.Lead is way over the top i st the gain around 5.5, 6 and get sustain for days. Good thing is the active eq on the distorted channels makes the amp very versitile ,play lamb of god to Cream between the crunch and the lead, no mesa but also better than any randall, marshall SOLID STATE or peice of crap 6 (line 6) .Bugera is relatively new to the scene and they came strong.

Sonor Force Drum Kit-Sponsored by Mama Treble Clef Studio

The Sonor Force Drum set is designed for intermidiete and beginners taking their first steps into the drum community.12-ply Beechwood Shells (African Bubinga veneer) Hardware included a bass drum tom-mount system, a double tom stand, snare stand, nylon-strap bass drum pedal, hi-hat stand, boom cymbal stand, double cymbal boom stand, straight cymbal stand. The Signature hardware is as heavy-duty as you can find. The stands have a lot of interchangeable parts, and can easily be converted from double-cymbal to cymbal-tom stand, etc. . . All of the mounts are the same so you have numerous configuration options. They have large handles for tightening/loosening. The teeth in the rotating parts of the stands are massive and would be extremely hard to strip or damage. The normal configuration is 14x10 snare, 12x12, 13x13, 14x14, 15x15 toms, 22x20 bass drum. They can have a very powerful, deep sound and tune very well. My typical heads are Evans G2 batters and evans resonant bottoms with a superkick 2 kick head and remo powerstroke 3 resonant on the bass. The snare is snare-side and a remo renaissance ambassador batter. The sound quality of these drums is terrific. They have a very powerful sound and were mainly used by heavy rock bands back in the '80's. The deep, thick shells make for plenty of thunder. They tend to be on the warmer end of the sound spectrum. The configuration doesn't allow for a lot of highs, but mostly mids and low end. Overtones are not a problem on these drums. They tune very easily; trying to get a higher pitch doesn't give great results.

A Green Symphony roadshow at Jaya 1

Performance by the members of the orchestra. This wonderful sound of the tuba, trombone, trumpet makes everybody stand still and enjoy the evening.Well done to all musician!

Green Symphony Roadshow at Jaya1

THE cheering and chattering of the crowd at Jaya One commercial centre in Petaling Jaya took on a romantic mood when soothing strands of violin, guitar and saxophone seeped through the air. A series of sentimental numbers ensued.
The show last Friday was belted out by several members from the National Youth Symphony Orchestra as well as conductor Mayya Musaeva as a prelude to “A Green Symphony”, a concert initiated by members of the Selangor MCA Youth in conjunction with the Environment Week.
The concert to be attended by Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen is slated for June 7, at 6.30pm at the Segi University College Hall in Kota Damansara.
“The main objective of this concert is to showcase our young Malaysian talents in the field of arts and music, and to create awareness among youths the importance of preserving our environment,” said organising chairman Tan Gim Tuan.
Multi-instrumentalist Eizaz Azhar will also be playing solo for jazz and fusion band Funk.
“It is also notable that all individuals involved in this project are below 30 years old,” he added. According to him, apart from the 60-member orchestra, the concert will also feature songstress Candy Cheah who has wowed many with her strong vocal.
Other performances featuring talents in various fields, such as modern dancing, jazz and pop bands, have also been included in the run-up to the concert.
Deputy organising chairman Ray Lee said the concert would be an alternative way to reach out to the masses.
“Many have been said but how many of the messages struck a chord in the hearts of youth? This time around, we let the music do the talking,” he said, adding that the participation of youths in the concert was overwhelming.
For enquiries about the concert, call 019-221 2595, 03- 9543 2201, 03-5541 0814 or visit http://agreensymphony.blogspot.com or email agreensymphony@gmail.com.

Concert Objectives and Programme

The objective of the Green Symphony concert is simple;

- To create awareness on how our lifestyle is affecting the planet
- To showcase young local talents
- To create an exciting event for the youth of today to enjoy

The concert will be held in SEGi College Kota Damansara from 6:30PM onwards. There will be a variety of different shows ranging from hip-hop dances to local bands and of course the stars of the show, the National Youth Orchestra and its members.

Awareness of the planet and our current living conditions have been spoken of ever since the early 80s, but in recent years this matter has escalated to different level altogether. The facts are simple; 1) there are not enough resources on this planet to sustain continued human growth and increasing quality of life, and 2) If we want to avoid catastrophic war, suffering, and global shortages of energy, we need to start looking to space seriously for solutions.

Global warming is a real threat whatever its causes are. Most say it’s too much CO2 in the air and some say it’s the sun but all in all it's a combination of different factors. Perhaps there are certain things that we can’t control but there are those that we can. One thing we can do is to help spread awareness about global warming. There are many ways to do so and we can start with our own homes. I remember my wife telling our maid not to burn rubber. I keep on telling my kids to recycle what can be recycled. I myself wasn’t spared from being lectured as I remember a good friend calling my attention when I threw a paper airplane and just left it on the ground.

Another good way of spreading awareness is to make use of current events that are either directly or indirectly linked to global warming. One such issue is the current global rice shortage. I personally use it to tell my kids how global warming resulted into drought and eventually into a worldwide diaster. If you want to take things a bit further, you can also start your own earth awareness blog and post your thoughts and ideas there. Blogging is an effective tool in spreading the word worldwide and so we must all use it. Joining online communities is another.

By know, I’m sure you already know that there are many ways to spread global warming awareness. Sometimes it just needs a little imagination and some effort, be it talking to the kids, changing your lifestyle habits or spreading the mesage via a concert.

The Green Symphony project is just that - to create awareness and a better future for our children.
